You can pay for CDL school through several options, including out-of-pocket payment, employer-sponsored training, state workforce funding, scholarships, payment plans, and (when available) Workforce Pell Grants for eligible short-term CDL training programs.
Starting July 1, 2026, eligible students may be able to use Workforce Pell Grants for approved short-term CDL training programs that meet federal and state requirements. These programs must typically last 8 to 15 weeks and include 150 to 599 clock hours. Unfortunately, this is not available for CNS Driver Training Center currently.
Employer-sponsored CDL training can be a good option for students who want low upfront costs. In many cases, a carrier covers some or all of the training cost in exchange for a work commitment after graduation. Students should review the terms carefully before enrolling.
To utilize Company Contract Training you need to work for a company that is paying for your CDL or own your own company, which would be taking on paying for the CDL.
