CNS Driver Training Center: Your next mission starts here.
If you’re a U.S. Veteran who served multiple periods of military service—especially if you reenlisted—you may now be eligible for up to 48 months of education benefits through the GI Bill®.
That’s one full year more than previously allowed, thanks to a major update from the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA).
This change means more opportunities to pursue meaningful careers after service—and CNS Driver Training Center, a GI Bill®-approved CDL school, is here to help you take full advantage of it.
What Changed with the GI Bill?
Under previous VA policy, Veterans had to choose between the Montgomery GI Bill and the Post-9/11 GI Bill, limiting their total education benefits to 36 months.
But now, if you served at least two qualifying periods (for example, you reenlisted), you no longer have to choose—you may be eligible for up to 48 months of benefits.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Veterans with two qualifying service periods may receive up to 12 additional months of benefits.
- These benefits may apply retroactively.
- No action is needed for many Veterans—the VA is automatically reviewing claims.
- For those who need to apply, the deadline is October 1, 2030.
- The update could impact over 1 million Veterans, with 660,000 automatically receiving updated benefits.
You can learn more about these updates on the VA’s official site.
